LAUNCHING SANCTUARY IN THE UK

Having formed a number of fruitful partnerships with UK organizations working in the intersection of faith and mental wellbeing over the last two years, we are excited to announce the launch of Sanctuary UK. Our plan is to complement the ongoing work to grow healthier communities in the UK.

Our partnerships have been a great source of encouragement and mutual growth, and we look forward to becoming more involved in the conversation about faith and mental wellbeing in the UK. Our hope is that together we can continue serving the Church by providing needed resources that connect with the work already being done.

CORIN PILLING, UK NATIONAL DIRECTOR

We’re delighted to introduce our new National Director for the UK, Corin Pilling. Corin is based in London and will be working to connect with charities, non-profits, and churches across the UK to form partnerships, collaborate in the intersection of faith and mental wellbeing, and bring resources like The Sanctuary Course to help meet the needs of churches and communities.

"I'm excited at the prospect of the UK church growing a more confident and compassionate approach to mental health. There's already excellent work in place and if we listen to what's needed, I am hopeful of real growth and change."

Corin Pilling

At the beginning of 2020, Sanctuary CEO Dan Whitehead traveled to the UK and had the chance to film an interview with our new UK National Director, Corin Pilling. In this fifteen minute video, Dan and Corin discuss the unique opportunities that Sanctuary has to grow in the UK as we come alongside other organizations working at the intersection of faith and mental wellbeing.

JOHN SWINTON, SANCTUARY AMBASSADOR

“The COVID-19 pandemic has placed new and significant pressure on churches and communities. Now more than ever, there is a need for people of faith to integrate mental health and wellbeing with robust theology and spiritual care. As an ambassador for Sanctuary, I am thrilled to see their work launch in the UK. In my estimation they are uniquely equipped to help the Church embrace all people at all stages of their mental health journeys. I can’t recommend them highly enough.”

Rev. Dr. John Swinton
